QotD: Pancakes or French Toast?

This month I've decided to post every day. Since I don't have enough original things to write about (hence the desertish nature of my blog lately), I've decided to ask a new question every day this month and hope that I get answers. I have questions; you have answers.

This is the Sunday breakfast version of the QotD. Since breakfast is my favorite meal, I want to talk about it. Which would you rather have -- pancakes or french toast? Then again, there's always an omelet. Or, even better, lox and chive cream cheese on a bagel (onion, lightly toasted)...

And no, it isn't freedom toast.

I'm not a huge fan of either. I think I'd rather have a plate of chewy bacon. Oh sure, eggs and toast can go with it, but bacon is really the star... :)

Eggs. I love eggs. Following that, french toast. But over easy eggs. Yum!

All of the above?

At the moment I'd have to say pancakes, probably due to the awesome plate-sized fluffy hand-flipped in a cast iron skillet buttermilk pancakes I had two weeks ago when I discovered one of my favorite lunch spots does a brunch menu on weekends! Client's thick cut French toast looked pretty fine as well.

Actually have bagel, cream cheese & lox for lunch on a regular basis.

Andrew makes awesome pancakes and crepes. But I also really love French Toast. With real maple syrup.

I'm firmly in the hearty breakfast club. I like an omelette with mushrooms and tomatoes, and cheese. Or the simple Turkish breakfast I grew up with: toast, white cheese (goat), tomatoes and black olives. Oh, yum. The only breakfast where I prefer black tea over coffee, because... yes, that what I grew up with.

No question -- pancakes. Waffles, if I have to. French toast is generally a distant third, fourth or fifth place. Behind oatmeal.

Really good pancakes, preferably buttermilk, real butter, real maple syrup. Can make it a one-eyed- or two-eyed-Texan (stack of pancakes with one or two eggs over easy placed on top before you add the syrup).

Many are obsessed with bacon. Every once in a while, a good crispy strip or two. Breakfast sausage -- generally only good for generating heartburn. Though we just had a squash and pasta dish for dinner, and Mrs. Dr. Phil found some lovely chicken and blueberry breakfast sausages which were NOT overly seasoned and quite delicious.

No whipped cream. Generally no fruit. The exception -- you can put blueberries into the pancakes and you can put blueberry pie filling on top along with the maple syrup.

Not that I have strong opinions about anything. (grin)

Blueberry whole grain pancakes with real maple syrup & bacon on the side.

A veggie omelette with sharp cheddar, crispy hashbrowns & sourdough toast.

From-scratch corned beef hash with poached eggs & rye toast.

Green chile, chorizo and cheddar quiche with sour cream, salsa and a big corn muffin.

Eggs florentine benedict with hashbrowns & fruit.

Darn, I'm hungry now!

Real maple syrup is a necessity. The local pancake place we go to charges extra for it, but I get it anyway. If I was smart, I'd remember to put a little bottle in my purse before we go.

Not a fan or pancakes or French toast..it is a big ham and cheese omelette for me if I have to choose, but since I am not a breakfast eater most times it is just a cup of coffee.
Breakfast for dinner is a popular choice for the other members of Wilsonworld, and for them, it is always pancakes, with real maple syrup, or homemade apple syrup.

French Toast. Buttered, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Served with a side of apples sauteed in butter with lots of cinnamon and sugar.
