In the holding pen

Just sitting here in the pre-op waiting room, hooked up to IV's.

Will be taken back for surgery in about 15 minutes, am hoping to wake up about 3 hours later having no memory of the time passing.

To my fellow UCFers, I have declined ALL of your suggested implants as has the staff here at the hospital for some reason.

Will see you all tomorrow, while on drugs

Sending well-wishes for a successful surgery your way.

Feeling sad about the rejection of ALL the suggestions, but hopefully when you read this the surgery will have gone well and the level of pain will be low.

You can't trust those doctors at the hospital: they only turned down the implant proposals because they're scared of you and jealous, because they know how awesome you'd be with all sorts of cool prosthetics and they would all suck by comparison. Fear and envy is all it is, fear and envy.

(Speedy recovery, ND, and hope you feel better soon.)

Coming up on the 2 1/2 hour mark. No news yet.

ND's mom and I are sitting in the waiting room.

Will post when I have some information.

Prehensile tail. Totally the way to go. They're messing around on that part of your body anyway...

Heal fast, please.

It's taking too long for me.

Update: All went well. She's out and in recovery, all pins and rods are in the right places. She feels all important body parts. Now she gets to have fun with morphine. Oh, yeah, baby.

Awesome news! Gol, that was a long time to hold my breath. Next time I'll drink instead.

Yay!

Thank you, TheHusband and Claudia for updates. Sorry there are no extraneous bionic appendages, but maybe it's for the best. As long as everything is back the way it should be, I'm happy.

(Even if it does meaning missing out on sweet potential mechs.)

Sending fast healing vibes, neurondoc!

Ah, just as I was beginning to wonder. ;)

Glad to hear she survived the surgery. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. And that the back pain is finally gone. :)

Thank you for the updates. I hope she's able to get up walking tomorrow, as she told me she was hoping would be the case.

Thanks for the updates, TH and Claudia.

Oooh, I'm popular vicariously! ;-D

On the phone with her now (it's 3 am where she is and the nurses keep bothering her so she can't sleep):

"Thank you for the good wishes. I'll check in a little later after the next round of torturing is over."

What good news that all the things you wanted *in* are there, and less the pesky Bionic Woman implants! Was really sweating it yesterday...

Claudia- you're popular 'cuz you're you! Did it sound like ND would be up to receiving phone visitors today?

Aw, Lorraine. You say the sweetest things.

Natalie is woozy and kinda cute when she's on drugs, and much more lucid than I expected. I think she'd be happy to get phone calls to distract her from the pain but you can write to her first and ask -- she's got Internet access there (what a dream hospital!). I'm pretty sure she'll be very happy to get lots of emails (hint, hint).
