Needle #2 (Updated)

By the time you guys and gals read this, I'll be at the NeedleDoc having epidural #2. I'm hoping this one is more effective. If not, I'm dubious about going for the 3rd epidural. It may be on to facet blocks, which are more painful.

I want a bionic spine. Just sayin'

I'm home now. Holy crap, Batman, that sucker HURT! I don't know if it was because I didn't take any Valium this time (wtf was I thinking), or if it was because he went one level up (since the prior one was unsuccessful). Regardless, it hurt, even though I squeezed TheHusband's hand the whole time. If I get another one, I will be drugged to the gills. And if he suggests facet blocks, Valium and I will definitely be friends. And at least I don't have to walk on the evil treadmill tonight.

I know: whine, whine, whine. It isn't cancer, but I am tired of back pain. I just want to be normal again.

I hope this one works.

I, too, hope this one works. However, please don't become normal. Normal people are boring!

Hope this one works too.

Drugs are your friends.

I've had about 10 major hand surgeries and have been drugged to the gills for the first 24 hours.

I knew someone would take the bait of the "normal" comment. :-)

Where is my fairy godmother? That's what I want to know. I don't want a fancy dress (god forbid) or a trip to a royal ball (I never dance) or to meet Prince Charming (probably a bore, plus TH might be annoyed if I start chasing after a prince). I just want it to all go magically away. (whine, whine, whine)

Would you like some cheese with the whine?

Vince -- I would love some cheese. I already have eaten some chocolate, but not too much, as I am trying to reduce. Growing old sucks.

Now I feel bad that I was all preoccupied with the husband's disease.

You sounded good, though. Are you better now? I don't want you to be normal, I want you to be pain-free. Normal is boring, you know that.

Hugs.

ElderHusband's disease is potentially a worse thing. Just sayin'.

Oh, I hope this one works better!

Forget the "I know it's not cancer" thought - when it's *your* pain, it doesn't matter what someone else might experience, and your pain is entitled to complete sympathy and whining just like anyone else's! (rant over :))

And you have my total sympathy - AND Alec's, who just said, "Oooooohhhhh" and "terrible" when I told him you had an epidural spinal shot without drugs. Please feel free to whine; you've earned it. Sending wishes for nerves to send happier signals...good luck

Michelle, I {heart} you.

I am a bit better today. I can only hope I get longer than 4 days out of this one. And it is back to the evil treadmill tonight.

Glad to hear there's some improvement; hope this is a trend that continues!
