I like comedy, and I am as funny as the next geeky, SF-loving, brain doctor. But there are some things I just don't find funny. TheHusband likes them, of course, and is influencing ThePinkThing in ways of which I don't approve.

I hate that fucking frog with a purple passion, but ThePinkThing thinks it is hilarious (and a little naughty). I just want to turn the damn thing into cuisses de grenouille.

Now, now, the Three Stooges are classic - especially the Larry, Moe and Curly lineup (I can deal with Shemp, but after that - no).
One Froggy Evening is another absolute classic, and is considered by many to be one of the finest, if not the finest cartoon short ever made. But then the Chuck Jones era for Warner Brothers cartoons is filled with classic cartoon shorts. such as Rabbit of Seville. Both of these are on the "The 50 Greatest Cartoons" list, with One Froggy Evening at #5 and Rabbit of Seville at #12.

I know that One Froggy Evening is funny, but I just can't get past what happens to the poor schmuck who finds the frog. It hurts.

In retrospect, my father did to me exactly what TheHusband is doing to ThePinkThing. When I was little, we watched The Court Jester together and quoted the funny parts. I've been influenced.
He also tried it with The Three Stooges, but that didn't stick.
Never liked the Three Stooges or that form of comedy, either.
But I do like the frog and the Barber. Like most of the Bugs Bunny shows. Found the Road Runner cartoons got tired after a while.
Tiny Tim is amusing, but very much of its time. Doesn't age well.
And I agree about Danny Kaye, and "Who's on First".
Totally agree with you about the Stooges. And Nathan, what is wrong with you? I LOVE Danny Kaye. And linking to The Court Jester? Bless you, neurondoc. Danny Kaye AND Basil Rathbone? My love is endless (I'm a huge Basil Rathbone fan). Add a very young, lovely, funny Angela Lansbury and you've got one fantastic movie.

Stooges I can live with in small doses. Who's on first frustrates me to no end.
The rest, I might actually find funny. Even the frog.
I used to have a poster of the Who's on First? routine. Gave it to a baseball fiend a few years back.
Three Stooges I can take in small doses, but I do actually work with the granddaughter of the man who started them, guy named Healy.

My *impression* is that liking them often falls to the male side of humanity, although your short poll seems to blur this belief.
The Teflon Spouse adores them. The only time he didn't find them completely humorous was the occasion when I got a haircut that he said made me look just like Moe. And he was right. But he didn't seem to like it as much as a fan should have.
John the Scientist seems an eminently sensible sort of fellow. :)
Give me Fawlty Towers any day...or everyday (g)
